Memento Assets: Classic art revived!
Like many indie devs, I grew up playing 2d games, and grew to love the pixel art aesthetic.
Thousands of video games were released on older systems which used pixel art graphics. Teams of artists worked for years to making vivid worlds come to life, creating fantastic tilesets, catchy music and colorful sprites. But I always found it a little sad that once a game was released, that was it - aside from the occasional sequel, artists would have to start over from square one on their next project.
Memento Assets gives old art another chance at the spotlight. We license the rights to resources from past-generation games, update them for use in modern game development engines, and give the next generation of creators a chance to use them in their own projects.
So far, we are in the process of converting the assets from the classic '90s series 'Neophyte' into usable forms for today's engines.
We currently have the Neophyte Original Sound Track up on Bandcamp, with more assets to come!
